Would this DIY wing from Clearwater, which is about the dimensions of a SS 99, hold up to the forces of windfoiling? Curious if anyone has every built and sailed with one of these. The price--with the addition of some glass, carbon, and epoxy--is right!

The highest stress areas are the connections between board and mast and mast and fuselage. Most of the damage to the wing comes from hitting stuff on the bottom or when the board is on its side while resting on rocks/concrete.

Not sure if you are a DIY guy or if you are trying to save money, but foiling is so cool that there is not much point skimping on start up costs.

Makers will make irrespective of cost

PS: I do wish clearwater foils well and appreciate their alternative offering

A friend of mine bought the Clearwater kit for his first ever foiling experience. He tried to save some money by doing so.

The whole experience was a disaster. The foil was misaligned. Board never lifted. Felt really bad for him.

I've watched his videos. He shows the usage as a surf foil. None of his video's show him wind-foiling. I don't think you will have a workable situation if you mount it on a wind-foiling board. The wing looks like it would be too far back relative too a foil board's foot straps.
