l have a grommet aged 9 weighs 42kg learning on a stable but fast JP young gun magic ride / 115L / 3m severn rig thats very light & forgiving on flat water off Balnarring, Westernport VIC. We are so 'not' in a hurry but the progression is coming along surprisingly quickly. . He is starting to plane in foot straps, not harnessing yet but tacking well to get back to shore. He's a dinghy sailor . Can anyone recommend a beginner foil set up / any info on dimensions & eventually look for second hand.. Mean while l'll ask a couple of local IQ foilers

The Severne Redwing is very simple & easy foil to use.
1400 front wing would be ideal for learning or you could even look for a 1200 or 1000 but they will be harder to find.
Downside is they are Tittle box & I think your board is Power Box. In reality it's better to get a Foil board anyway so look for a small one around 100 litres if possible.
The Redwing can be adapted to tracks also.
