hi, who tried the foyle from aeromod? view they ride on lake Ganges(where the wind ripped), and not in the sea where the wind is smooth. On the first video, you can clearly see how Alex tries the horue vini(I also had the same thing with the horue gp).



and now look at how Alex made his foyle, which is very stable. I'm thinking of buying an XL wing.

This remembers me to my very first impressions with the Horue 2016

But I already miss windfoiling, so I was looking for a foil that is compatible with my Goya Bolt in combination with my 95kg body... I want to build my own windfall-board but need something to go foiling in the meantime.

But to be fair: the first video shows the first steps in windfoiling. I would say the foil Alexis is using in that video is not the reason why it looks so unstable. With some foiling time you know that speed is the key to stable foiling.

Anyway, I am really looking forward to get the foil and test it. I tried the Horue Vini XLW for a few times, but even with additional shims it neede way too much back-foot pressure for my liking.

I also tried horue gp. I made a homemade fuselage of 120 cm and finally flew. when the wind is ragged like on a lake and gusts come periodically with a short fuselage, it is difficult to ride. I'm currently riding a horue h10. h10 it's convenient to change the stabilizer angle to negative and become a very stable foIl

I have a Bolt 135 2018 model year, weigh 86 kg, the AFS foil and F1080/F770 wings works great with a single-bolt mast base all the way back. After 2019 Goya extended the mast track back more for foiling.

With the 1080 wing, you can take off with a wind of 8 knots and a maximum speed of 24 knots. The aeromod wing takes off from 6 knots and has a maximum speed of 24 knots. What is the stability of the AFS foyle? Have you tried it on the lake(where the wind is ragged)?

that is great news, as I have the 2020/2021 Bolt, so that should do. And the trim of the Aeromod is almost the same as the AFS. Can't wait to get the foil, it's gonna be a long 6 weeks wait I guess.

Remember, the AFS website prices "include VAT", if you are out of the EU the VAT will come off once you enter your address. On a foil set the VAT can be 400 euros!

I am interested not only in 6 knots but also in the stability of the flight as I ride on lakes where the wind is ragged. I don't understand why they can't make a wing like a slingshot stable, but not a shovel. 100% carbone written on the website.

I wondered why they did not make a big wing like slingshot too, until I got experienced and realized the F1080 is as big as I need. 8 knots is low enough for me, and I do not think I could get up in less even with a big wing like the Moses 1100. Guys at Sailworks told me the Moses 1100 would get me up in 8-10, and I said I am already getting up in that range with the AFS F800.

I take off with gusts of 8-9 knots with a horue h10 wing (890 cm2) and a sail of 9.6. Again, everyone forgets that you put the stabilizer down and then the foyle goes to take off and is more stable.

I see different questions up there.
First of all I have to say that I worked for a while with Alexis and we still ride often together.

Why no big fat wing like slinshot ? Well it is better to have less drag to take off and the EasyXL A?romod does just that.
The profile are powerfull and the hig haspect ratio gives great gliding performance in light air without sacrificing the speed.
The wings have foam cores so that they don't weight to much. They are also very stiff as the rest of the foil, thanks to high modulus carbon.

I am still using a modified version of the V1. But be sure you won't be deceived with that foil.
Also very good in gusty winds (35knts+ in video bellow)

But the big wing Easy XL of the V2 also overpowers a little faster than the LW wing of V1, then he switches to the Easy M. With the V1 the big Easy LW wing was more of an allround wing for me, lifting early but keeping speed and control also in higher winds.
The profile of the Aeromod foils are really refined, the yearlong experience of Alexis in building big hang gliders shows of there, also how to use carbon to the max. My V1 weighs only 2,9 kg but is so stiff and tough, unbelievable.

But now my Aeromod gathers dust, since i started winging and now i do it exclusively.
It's a pity Aeromod doesn't offer foils for winging (bigger wings, platemount masts), i'd surely order one.

It's bad that the aeromod does not have a long fuselage 115-120 cm.

what does the racing wing have to do with it? A long fuselage with a torn wind gives good flight stability.

Too much stability causes problems when carving swell or jumping.
Different equipment for different uses.

I wouldn't describe Aeromod foil as freeride, nor race. Rather an allround kit. It is designed with focus on high lift over drag ratio. It is very confortable for turning round and round, as with low drag you can easily glide though jibes (360 and other tricks) with depowered sail. Also it is also very efficient to glide through lull. But compared with other freeride gear, it generates rather low drag, so it can achieve significant speed. Alex rides with large camed sails, and regularly over 25kt average on several reach (jibes included), and he is chasing over 30kt score.
He doesn't provide long fuselage that would probably require to switch to aluminium, and he wants to stick to full carbon design.
Some are now using the v2 front wings for winging, but mostly with custom adaptor on other foil (starboard I am sure of).
