Hi, anyone got a solution for this? Is there such a thing as a weed foil? At height of summer it is getting a bit annoying now. Last session I had to plunge in the water 10 times to rip off hands full of weed!

Find somewhere to sail where there's no weed.

Thats the only solution i've found. I guess depending on where you live, that might be easier said than done.

OMG, I live in Colorado. Weed and foiling mean something different... at least the weed part.

Yeah, think MProject04 will find many similar 'affected weed windfoilers' along the entire US west coast and up in Michigan lakes area. And here in Europe in The Netherlands. Dont think the affected find it a problem though!?

I think the demand surpass the offer in most place...

but what is funny, some spot where I cannot ride a fin board without a weed fin...the foil works fine.

It's mostly the very long weeds that catch and specially if they are attached at the bottom of the sea floor or lake or whatever.

On my closest spots there is a few shallow area and when I pass over....it's a hand break and I need to clean the foil...if I don't get over the handle bar. ;-) When I avoid them I'm fin...but I cannot ride with a wave fin or slalom fin.

Foils are weed magnets. The Columbia River sites are getting weedy now in late summer. Ugh. At Roosevelt it is not unusual to collect 50 pounds of weeds before you get out into the clear. Same for 3-Mile and Port Kelley. Fortunately, Arlington Port, directly across from Roosevelt, stays clear because you launch directly into clear current.
