Great fun riding waves at the northern end of Moreton Bay in a 10 to 15 kt SEer.

Was a great session. What other locations are like minded windfoilers getting into swell in SEQ?

My tracks from yesterday's session at Mooloolabah. The wind was a bit marginal in the first session but better in the second. The 2 m swell was breaking on a deep bank about 150m from shore.

Was a hoot!! Photo taken early morning on the high tide before the wind and swell kicked in. Not sure why orientation is skewed. Definitely back here on NE wind

Another great session at Mooloolaba, just me and a few kite foilers. New favourite spot

Try Queens Beach North at Scarborough in a good SE, anything above 18knots. The bay is shallow and produces a short period swell well over waist high in higher wind strengths. Also no shore break to contend with to get out.

Mr Keen and I both foil Queens regularly in both SE & NE wind. I agree its a great place to wave wind foil, with the added bonus of easy parking and being close to Brisbane.

However, Mooloolaba is a different beast. Ocean swell vs bay swell, long period vs short period, breaking waves vs non-breaking waves. The shore dump at Queens is smaller but Mooloolaba is only a bit bigger and definitely manageable.
