I've used the foilx 145 with the infinity 76 for quite some time, just upgraded to the phantasm 926 (higher aspect closer to 1300cm2) but I've only had one session so far due to conditions. The Supercruiser I've heard is closer to the infinity 84 in size. The 730 probably has a little bit more speed but is probably similar riding being lower aspect like the SC. But I've never ridden the SC myself.

You could also look into the superflyer, which is faster than the SC but I don't have any personal experience with it. It would be cheaper if you already have a compatible fuse and rear wing.

With the Phantasm setup you'll need to get the jack plate as well as the tops are all track mount not tuttle.

If you like to go fast, you may consider IQfoil. Friend of mine went from supercruiser to IQfoil and he has been very satisfied. However, you may not be able to do 360 on this set-up but it is possible to reach speed similar to regular windsurfing.

Maybe the 900 front with the 95+ or 105+ or 95/105 evo fuse. The foilx has a very aft mast trick that would make it less able to deal with forward power of the 115+ fuse.

I still haven't run it with the starboard foils yet.

Logical step up would be 105+, 1100 and 255

Can still 360 but around 30-50% faster. Add a slalom front wing for more speed down the road.

Within the Starboard family, the SuperFlyer (1300cm2) apparently is a fun to ride foil noticeably quicker than the Supercruiser. If you are interested in "freeride" and doing things like 360, I'd imagine a bit more area than the IQ will be helpful for most mortals.

A mate has the FoilX 145. He started on the Supercruiser but after a few sessions changed it for the Superflyer 1300. He's been very happy with the change.

I suspect the Phantasm 730 and tuttle adaptor would also work very well, albeit more expensive.

There are other brands who make good quality freefoil wings with stiff aluminum masts, eg Simmer, Axis, Fanatic, Patrik, Severne that would also work well.

If you can find a 1300 front wing for your fuselage, you'll get a faster, less draggy, and more controllable foil. I was lucky to get an older (2019?) 1300 front wing that fits the 2021 Supercruiser fuse perfectly (2 screws on each side). I also have a 2000 front wing that has just 2 screws, and that mounts a bit loose on the fuse unless I add a few layers of packing tape to the fuse. The 2000 can deliver a lot of fun in lightest winds, but is even slower than the 1700.

1300 is a better size than 1700 once you're past the learning stage, and only needs a knot or so more wind.

It's FoilX 125 John.... and yes stoked with the performance of the Superflyer. Gets me going in 10 knots with 6m and great fun in 20+ with a 4.5m.

Regarding the "not super controllable" comment for the Supercruiser, I agree. I started with the original 1700cm2 Supercruiser, and I really appreciated a lot of its characteristics when learning - but it did always feel pretty twitchy at the top end of its speed range. I upgraded to the 1300cm2 Superflyer, and am happy with the choice - but one characteristic I didn't expect is that Superflyer feels quite a bit more stable than the Supercruiser - to the point that I now sometimes miss the maneuverability of the Supercruiser when just wanting chuck the thing about a bit.

Have you tried it with a smaller stabilizer, like the 270? Should make it a bit more lively.

I second all the opinions noting the SF 1300 as overall superior to the SC 1700.

I've tried a variety of front and tail wings on my FoilX 125 with a 95+ fuselage.
Unfortunately I've not transferred over to the evolution series, so can't comment on the superflyer.

The old race wing series 1000/900/800 are ok, ideally with a 330 tw.
The 1000 ( millennium) is quite predictably high glide and quicker than the supercruiser. If you have the foot straps inboard, be aware of the potential of the wing, overpowering your foot leverage and it taking control.
900 is my favourite fw if I want to go fast.
800 is great but is tricky to get enough board speed to get it to lift.

In my experience,
1. if the water is flat you can use any front wing you want.
2. If you are sub 80kg this helps with not sinking the tail too much and preventing flat take off

The FoilX will generate enough forward speed to come up parallel to the water ...the 2021/2022 version is better in this respect than the first generation, as it has a longer flatter section at the tail and cut outs, to help displacement water flow.

However if the water is choppy or worse in waves, it's very difficult to generate enough forward speed without hitting the next lump to get the board to rise.

In a choppy or in wind swell, it is much easier to use a foil which you can bounce to pump up... so that the board comes up with a higher angle of attack .... so SC / superflyer / freeride 1100 would be the ones to go for .

As as I said in the Scandinavian forum, my preferred do it all, option is the 1100/ 95+/ 330 with -1 deg shim
I use this with the iqfoil mast and it's really quick and forgiving enough for my sailing experience.

If Starboard eventually replace the Freeride 1100 wing with a newer refined version rather than just adapting it to the evolution fuselage, I may be tempted to replace it.

Yeah, that's a good point. Probably time to start adding to my stabilizer collection.

I upgraded from the supercruiser to the freeride foil. It is much more versatile foil as it gets going in pretty much in the same wind but is faster and more stable and doesn't get overpowered as the SC does. like RuddeBoss My go to is the 1100 front 95+ fus and 330 rear but with -1.5 shim. Have just got a 800 front which I am trying as well

First outing on Freeride 1100, with Evo 95, agree with others 330 tail at -1.5 feels balanced
Very sweet and slippery - will be a great touring setup for long voyages
Supercruiser will stay a favourite, going miles upwind then carving swells of all sizes back home

It appears that there is a difference between comparable degree shims and also fuselages.
As I said I've been using -1 deg shim on the 95+ for a while now.
However I've just recently purchased a new iqfoil 95 + fuselage and it's slightly different in where the toe of the iqfoil mast fits in and also more importantly a different front wing angle.

This has translated into a slightly more front foot pressure with my tried and trusted setting.
so much so, in a gust the board just launched.
I was pushing it a bit in a gusty 15-25mph NE on a 4m Goya fringe, and the 800 /95+/ 330 combination

Here in Mallorca we are very happy with Sab foil Baltz Muller edition (799-95-399). It have a great lift for it size(1100 cm2), the same of the 790 (1500 cm2), but is much faster and reactive. WIth the 425 rear wing is easier.

I went from Supercruiser to Superflyer, yesterday was my first time on that and I'm really happy. I needed to do just few small fix, like mast fot position. I could lyft foil with same light wind I usually use with Supercruiser.

Hi Xavier, for the Sab foil Baltz Muller edition (799-95-399), which angle of stab shim are you using?

I am using the Sab foil Baltz Muller edition (799-105-399 on 900 fuse) with +1.5 deg shim. I don't jump it, but just cruise it. Nice foil. I was on it yesterday on a desert lake in eastern Washington state.
