A magic session with Mr Keen at Byron Bay in a NWer. We launched through the surf at Main Beach and worked out way up to The Pass. The starboard tack wave riding down the break was epic.

Definitely no fancy jibe tracks, but this was a fun day. Went 3 miles in fantastic side/off conditions with a small group and visited an island I had never been too before. 7.0 and 900 wing and the downwind leg coming back was a perfect casual cruising angle over flat water.
This is winging in Cabarete. I've spent a couple of hundred sessions since then trying to improve my skills to make similar tracks, but with rather limited success.
Bit of a beat upwind in marginal winds but then you get to play in the swell as it comes in through the heads. Also, once the hard upwind work has been done and you're finished with the swell the downwind ride home is a blast
Oh yeah, helter skelter... 20-25 knots and 1.5m short period bay swell. Bit of claret from the foot kicking the stab in waterstart and a bruise on thigh (no idea how) but still buzzing the day after
