The windfoil 'trance' has anyone else experience this?

So was Windfoiling last weekend with marginal winds but occasional gusts would get me on foil. I'd find myself going into a strange almost 'trance' like state where I let myself get into trouble (sailing outside through a gap in the breakwater and not being able to get back in) given strong tidal current and dying wind.

Was a long walk of shame back but I'm just wondering if other folks out there have just gone on 'auto-pilot' where they forget the world around them and just don't want to stop the magic carpet ride even if it takes them to a walk of shame? Not complaining, still worth it!!!

Maybe I'm the exception, but I have to focus, stay in the moment, and anticipate MUCH more with foiling than I do finning.
Plus, constant reaction, sheeting and weight shifts.....

I've definitely found I'm foiling on longer reaches, compared to my slapper.
Its easy to find yourself in new grounds with the angles you can sail too.

I go for much bigger downwind swell rides. Hundreds of meters below the launch site at times.

Whatever the type of funny mushrooms that you are on, please share with us!

I still remember my first time ever getting into planning on my first funboard back in 1983.
Had a 2 km long walk along the beach with board and sail back to my car. But darn, THAT WAS SOOO GOOD !

I'm completely focused as well when foiling, if I don't, I will crash! There's ride hight, over foiling side to side wobble, pumping wing or sail or both at the same time, gybing in the air etc... Maybe after a while, this will become second nature, but for now, it's focus and fun. When I'm on the slapper, now that's different! I'm in lala land and can let myself goooooo!
