Any feedback on these foils? I'm not asking about the AI-adjustable foil but their regular fixed carbon setups. Especially interested in durability and solidity of the connections and such. I have a chance to buy one sight-unseen at a very fair price. In terms of specifications it should be perfect for me but only if it's going to hold up well.

I haven't read anything bad about them - good quality. Biggest "knock" is that like a lot of performance oriented foils, the wings were smaller than the big stuff popularized by Slingshot, etc. Think the first generation Starboard, F4, etc. They've beefed up their wing offerings since so not as much an issue.

I am the worst person on earth to give advise on a foil but I used to have a Taaroa Noe 80. All I can say is that I found it much harder to use than my current Moses 790 and I sold it. Seemed nervous and unstable, possibly because of the short fuselage, newer ones might have a longer fuselage. Construction seems good with the exception of the bright idea of using stainless steel instead of brass for the Tuttle head inserts. Predictable result was that a bolt cross threaded and I had to drill the insert out But maybe it just my bad juju with the foil in general. Newer models might have switched to brass, if not and if you get it, just be careful when you thread the bolts, or better change the inserts to brass, it takes a few minutes.

I had the Freeride 97 and the Freerace 97 with the additional 85 cm fuselage (new standard size) and 1050 free race wing. Together 3 years of use.

I had no issues with the construction. I find the quality very good. An yes they are different than the supercruiser like models but serve another purpose.
The wings are high aspect : higher speed but less manoeuvrable compared to supercruiser wings. Also higher level of control. They are very rigid. The 75cm fuse is harder, the 85 is much nicer.
Now a 95 is available and a 105 is coming soon. (add 5cm on fuselages to compare to Starboard).

I used the Freeride to get more comfortable foiling coming from a Zeeko alu from 2017 this was a huge improvement.
Currently I use the Freerace. Its a very nice foil. You go really fast without losing control.

Thanks for your replies! I'm looking at the new 105 fuse and a 2000ish freeride wing, on an 80cm mast. A little worried about the relatively short mast and the really big front wing, but early lift is very important in the confined areas where I often sail. I'm now on an i84 (on a 90cm mast) which though a nice setup isn't a particularly good match for the outboard straps and Tuttle box setup of my board.

we've seen quite a few breakage issues over here (front wing connections/and heavy corrosion on fuselage), users are offloading them because of that.
and the last gen ones whistle like the good old NP pinkie !

Hmmm - I think they're going to a carbon fuse which might help with corrosion. Those three bolts holding the front wing aren't working out?
