Does the pool noodle work at protecting your board? ThatsT actually not a bad idea...
(Asking for a mate who does some catapults when it's windy)
In my experience noodles will be washed out with first serious dive. They are polyethylene, this stuff has 0 adhesion.
Unless you wrap them with belts that are screwed to board.
I've ended up with laminating around bow with kevlar. This really helps.
The pool noodle was a quick fix initially as I bought the board new (very rare for me to buy new). After the first go I realised that learning to foil is much like learning to windsurf.... over the hangers again and again.
Surprisingly the pool noodle works great. I tested it on an old board first, $3 pool noodle and a some hot glue, perfect. It's lasted 10-12 learning sessions so far and still feels solid. To get it off I just re-heated the glue. It doesn't seem to leave any marks either.
I now have a Fez's Knob so I'm thinking about give the noodle the flick.
