Is the 800 noticeably smaller in use than the 1000 ? I have the 1000 and am thinking of a smaller wing for stronger winds but wasn't sure how much to step down . Thanks

The option in between is the 900 and I think you will have too much overlap between the 900 and 1000. I have the 1000 only but a sailing buddy has the 800 so I think it should work.

Thanks, I was more worried that they were too similar and that I would need to go smaller

I have the 1100 and the 800. The 800 barely gives me more top end speed (1-2kts maybe?). Have a look at this:
