The real "trick" would be for the different brands to NATIVELY use a standard for the mast-fuselage connection (in order to "lighten" the economic impact of any material upgrades) but thumbs-up to someone who finally tries to do something in this direction...
The mast is the most expensive piece of a foil. Investing a capital on that part and (almost) not being able to use it in case of updates is a real practical and psychological obstacle.
With the current extremizations in the racing sector it will be very interesting to find out if the system will give effective results in those areas too.
My curiosity is always to understand how masts and airplanes (of the same program) with different designs (different models or brands combined together) harmonize and what kind of reactions occur.

Relevant video. I thought it was just for wings but they have a shot of a windfoiler too in there...

Between Starboard as well as Slingshot doing their own new thing I wonder if we will settle down on one connection?

companies spend a lot of money in research and tooling; why would they move to another system. Plus, it is somewhat admitting that the system of another company is better so they are adopting it?
Unless companies they are forced to have a universal method, they will do whatever is best for them, not for us. Maybe PWA and the kite and wing associations could require standardized universal fuse mast joint in, let's say, 5 years.

I like the idea and I'd think the one piece wing/front fuse has a good drag profile but it would seem to increase the cost of the front wing vs just screwing on the front wing in the traditional manner. (Or does it just increase the profit margin on wings?)

But, I guess all the cool kids in winging are going (or already have gone) to a plug in system this year and windfoiling will follow? What problem does it solve?

Maybe we can get the EU to mandate a standard like they did for USB-C

Anybody is using Starboard foils in PWA, but the price is the same of best brands in PWA.

OMG, 3000? just for the mast...?

I'm glad I've kept my Formula stuff, you'll get quite a lot of high quality Formula fins, even the Kashy ones, for that cost...

Starboard foils have usually had good mechanical engineering but poor wing design, especially their SUP/Wing stuff is at least a generation behind.
Then they change attachment systems way more often than other companies with not backward compatibility.

Hello,
somebody in the know about Frontwing shimming?
what's the point, can I skip sizes?

Can I depower Wings without losing the low stall speed?
Reverse, if I am a great at jibes or have super steady conditions.

best regards:)
