Awesome board - had it for 20 months, foiled it over 7,000 kms.
Used in all winds and water states - 10 knots with a 5.9 to 30+ with a 3.7m, up to 2.5m ocean windswells.

No delams or softness anywhere or any Tuttle box cracks and it's taken quite a beating - including crashing into a big fish and a limestone reef, at 20 knots.

Decided to do a little refurb - new non-slip as the original was worn and yellow from UV.
A little love to the nose dents and sacrificial glass strip on the port rail (I run the board up the beach on the rail when coming in through the shore break).

Always use the rear straps for carving downwind.
I've moved them max inboard in the standard holes (by offsetting the mounting screws) and the straps work fine for me - others prefer them moved inwards.

So stoked with the W105 - 1.77m and 76cm are perfect dimensions for an all-round board (I'm 80kgs).
I can't think of anything I'd change or any board I could upgrade to



The SS Freestyle 87 is superfun - but it's use is limited to stronger steadier winds.

You have definitely got your money's worth out of that board and lots of life still in her. I'm sure you will be riding the new fat 101 or whatever they come up with next.

Tryed my wizard 105 for the first time last weekend. Wow no swing weight. Can carve much harder then my jp 135. I found sometimes I would get through the downwind turn so quickly I almost didn't know what maneuver to do next...jibe or another s turnLooking forward to trying it with the TC 68. It is pritty fast upwind with the i76.

JJ do you move your mast base more forward when on smaller sails and high wind. I had it in the back 1/4 to 1/3rd of the track. Getting a bit overpowered on my 5.2 in gusts to 26kts. Would have gone 4.2 at that point. Looks like you guys try to keep the UJ in the back half of the track regardless of sails? It felt pritty surfy. Don't think I would want it much more forward. Definitely will be fun getting this board dialled in.

Connor - awesome that you're cranking with the W105

The front half of the mast track is the go if you're seriously overpowered - had it right up front a couple of times.
Steadies the ride up / helps control excess lift - but can be a little trickier keeping the nose up when flying down swells.

Good review. I finally ordered the 105 last night. Very nearly ordered the 125 hopefully wont regret it. Feeling a bit more confident after reading your review because I'm 80kg too.

I agree JJ the wizards are so well built, its pretty amazing.

I have never foiled/windsurfed any board as much as the my W125 (had mine 16 months) and the only thing going is a bit of the non-slip.

One day I would love to fly the W105 but my high wind foiling attention is shifting a little bit to the wing dinging which is also very addictive
