I was on a downhauled 3m (my smallest) and a SAB 853/370 combo. It was 30 to 35 mph with gusts to 43 that day. And foiling in a straight line and picking smoother spots to jibe it is actually pretty manageable. It's when you get aggressive and try some harder carves your degree of success is diminished. All good fun. But most folks are smart enough to get off the water or get on a 1.4m wing.

A will back I was out on a day when it was gusting to 50mph and that was just stupid. IMO it's as much the difference between the lulls and gusts that make the wind unmanageable more that the sheer strength.

Thanks Azymuth plenty of wind to sheet in with. It's interesting how much better a following camera really shows whats going on; as you have perviously noted. I am sure I have carved harder when on a smoother wave (going faster down hill and powered up with apparent wind) but a nose mount camera just does not show it very well.
Azymuth you would love the downwinders on these windy days as the off shore wind swell gets serious and jacks up on some of the outer reefs.
