Thanks.
Yes,i know about the extra weight. Not sure it is there because strong construction or because they want a lot of inertia for an extra stability while foiling.
It seems the 91 (supposed for the light conditions) needs more power from foil and sail to taking off and it's not easy to pop it out because the huge thickness in the tail? But, as soon it flies, it's a machine and doesn't bother about wind surplus. Is it correct?
What's the smallest sail size you want use with the 91 (being balanced) ?
I'd be interested in the 79 for 16/17+ kts conditions and sail sizes 7.2 and smaller
p.s. Are there a V1 and V2 models ? If yes, what's different?
Hola!
I have this board, and is the board I use in medium and high wind condition. I have a Patrik Foil Race 145 for light-medium wind, for 7-8 sails. But when the conditions are difficult I have the Severne Hydro 79 for 7.0 and 5.2. The only issue for the Severne is the weight(more difficult to take off), but at is at the same time the advantage. When I bought the Severne, the owner(a professional windsurfer), said to me "this board is the best for Defiwind conditions". The extra weight, the shape on the nose, make this board horizontally super stable making possible to go faster with a feeling of control. The position of the foostraps are good for maximum 7.0 sail, because is more centered, thinking in control at high speed. The shape of the back is perfect for wave conditions, because the touch in the water don't affect the speed a lot. The best performance of this board is from 15 knots, but is possible to go with less. The advantage of this board is when you go faster than 25 knots of speed.
