Saturday a nice afternoon seabreeze kicked in and it was great to catch up with some forum foilers, Segler (Rick) and MilSurf (Brian).

I got sit and play with the camera for a bit and unfortunately no water time for me as I'm back on the injured reserve list again!
(Might start a go fund me page for a new back).

It was also nice to see all the different foiling sports (wind, wing, kite and windsurf) just blasting and having fun with no drama....

MilSurf (Brian) he was on wizard 114 and Axis with a 5.4 he is really quick on it as I have foiled with him a few times and the foil turns really well.

Segler (Rick) is on the Exocet board/Hoverglide infinity 76 and took off upwind in a heartbeat, he quickly foiled out too far for my camera lens. He too was pushing some great speeds. The i76 was so far ahead of its time!

Camera lens are another expensive hobby but I do need a better zoom lens!

Another great vid Dean, thanks for shooting! After 2 years now I'm still blown away with foiling. 14 mph wind on a 5.4 wave sail, powered up and having a blast! I'm on the Axis 930 HPS front wing which is my lighter wind setup. I've been asked by a bunch of people lately the difference in getting on foil with the higher aspect foils compared to something like the SS 76 (which I used to ride). Your vid captures me and Segler getting on foil perfectly. Take off time about the same, just different technique. You can see me bearing off a little, 3-4 quick pumps for speed, my board starts planning and foil starts lifting. Segler needed less actual board speed and the 76 lifts straight up.

Segler is the guy (me) with the orange shirt and yellow/blue Flyer 7.0. Milsurf was really fast on beam reaches. My speed was less (I think), but I had no trouble going way the heck upwind to get out into cleaner wind.

Kelly Park on Florida's Merritt Island is a great place to sail/kite/foil/wing. The water, as is usual for Florida, is fairly shallow in spots. I ticked bottom sometimes with a 90 cm mast, but never touched with an 88 cm mast.
