That's impressive. I've done some 2mile crossings on fin and foil BUT they were basically single tack reaches with a jibe at the halfway point to sail back. Not a steady upwind jibefest like that, huge difference. And on boards with substantially more volume than that one.
Cheers. The foil is surprizing good for touring. The only thing that competes is a long board, but not sure how long it would take me to reach alcatraz beating upwind on a longboard?
Good question, sounds like a challenge

Wonder how it would be underpowered with daggerboard vs. powered up with the board up. My Link shoots upwind better than my shortboard when fully or overpowered, but the angles just still aren't as good as the foils.
