Finally we got some, after the Aussies hoarded the stash of Slingshot Phantasm foils

, they are now starting to land in the U.S.
Weight :
Phantasm 926 with short fuse weighed 8.1lbs, the Hover Glide with i76 weighs in at 12.5 lbs
Pro's
1. Very first thing I noticed was how stiff the mast is, it gives you instant feedback! What does that mean exactly? it drives you from point A to B very quickly either upwind or downwind, You can also glide off the wind longer whilst staying in that power zone, when you gybe or turn it does not flex as much like an aluminum mast.
2.You can purchase a wider and stiffer mast called the 103W but I ride pretty upright and don't tend to hike off the rails as much. I also wing foil so the 92cm is one mast for both sports (Plus Florida also has some very shallow area's)
3. The 926 feels like the infinity 84 with terms of low end power but the 926 wing is much more refined through the water, no where near as much drag.
4.The next biggest difference was the exit of speed through the gybes, it felt like I was exiting quicker than going into a turn?
5. Picking up the board and foil, maybe not a big deal for some but my shoulders and back are a little worn out from 40 years of sports, windsurfing and foiling and so carrying everything together especially through surf zones is less impact on those ligaments.
Con's
1.If you have less than a year wind foiling, you may find the 926 sensitive under foot, it reacts way quicker than the hover glide foil, the 926 is not for beginners.
2. You may need to adjust your foiling stance and foil position, some wings are foot foot sensitive, so you will need to experiment with track and mast base positions. Spend time dialing it in.
3. Its Carbon you have to protect it, yes its stronger but not if you're throwing it around or letting the foil fall over, it does come with wing covers!
