It's a very stabile slalom-foil sail (I have it in 7,2 and 6,0)
-a bit more weight than Phantom Iris RF, but (I think) will last longer
-compared to the PD Foil+ faster, less low wind capacity
-4 camber, very good rotation (on a Slake MDM)
I really like the S2, I use it on a PD FC 78 V2 with 740 and 671/607 Sabfoil.

- being the sizes gap a bit "thinner" compared to other brands (giving also more opportunity to best select sizes according to personal needs), it seems a bit difficult choosing the "right ones".

I can compare it only to the PD Foil+, Gunsails GS-F 1. Gen, Phantom Iris RF, which I have/had.

Compared to Gunsails GS-F 1. Gen & Phantom Iris RF the S2 profile seems to be more stabile, therefore not so soft in very low wind conditions. So it needs a bit more wind to be "loaded" - but we are talking reg. Phantom and S2 about as the top foiling sails with small differences.

<=I think - that's the same, what I feel. Flying, getting faster and faster - It's getting more and more perfect for me.

8.0 Foil below 10 knots
7,2 S2 above 10 knots - 18 knots
6,0 S2 above 12 knots - 20 knots

I have the s2 in 6.0, 6.6, 7.2,.7.8 and 8.4.

I have used them quite a bit but I wanted to use them more before I did a review on them. But since you ask -

They are super stable to the point where it is easy to go out with too big a sail. By that I mean you will never struggle with control but you just have a lot more power than you need.

The sails have a looser leech than the foil+ and are more user friendly in gusty conditions allowing you to use the gusts rather than dread them. The sails are quite flat but not super flat - they are efficient rather than grunty. The fine entry into the sail makes it want to accelerate so when a marginal gust comes along you can to an extent let the sail naturally accelerate and try to make your board and foil keep up with it and in which case flight is very easy. You do have a bit of adjustment on the outhaul so you can get a bit of extra depth into the sail if required.

All of my sail took a lot of tuning to get them to rotate. With my foil+ sails I just removed a lot of the spacers and they gybed great. But on the S2 taking the spacers out was not enough and I had to take a few mm off the back of the two main cams. The 7.2 upwards I have them on the matching Patrik masts. The 6.6 and 6.0 I have on rdm masts and they are very nice on the rdm (maverx superleggero).

I am using the sails on Patrik Foil-comp boards with AFS foils.

Please, you find them physical for avg weight people to pump onto foiling mode when it's light?
It would be cool if you could help with sizes wind range. As told above Patrik offers 5 sizes in a closer gap (8,4-6.0) than other offering 4 sizes for 9.0-6.0 . Good for a precise selection but hard when you feel you need any!

Regarding weight, I did weigh them when they were new and dry. I can't now find where I wrote the weights down but I remember them being very close to the Neil Pryde sails in weight. In feel I am used to the 8.0 and 9.0 foil+ sail which (especially the 9.0) are quite heavy with their extra batten and cam so I find the S2 feel lighter, They are not very noticeable as you move them around in the gybe and for pumping onto the foil they obviously don't feel feather weight but neither do they feel heavy. because of the relatively flat profile they cut through the air easily when moving the rig forward. With the 9.0 foil+ I used the momentum of the rig weight to pull the board forward so I may not be the most critical person when it comes to feeling light when pumping. The general feeling I get is that the sail fairly typical of Patrik stuff are made for winning races so maybe there is a slight bias towards top end rather than bottom end grunt.

Sizing - yes they have closer spacing than some other brands. You could miss a size in places ie 7.2 to 8.4 would work but 6.0 to 7.2 would sometimes leave you wanting something in between.

Wind range? Hmm that is tricky. I think in truth I have often been over foiling the sails ie I have been using too big a front wing. That is something I am trying to correct, I need to use my 900 wing less and start using my 700 and 560 wings more. I am 95kg and so far have used the sails as follows
6.0 up to about 25 kts with 700 front wing
6.6 up to about 20 kts with 700 front wing
7.2 up to about 18 kts with 700 front wing
7.8 up to about 15 kts with 900 front wing
8.4 up to about 15 kts with 900 front wing

I have not yet felt over powered by the sails but I have with the foil - it can be hard though to separate the two. Those would be the days where I am very happy sailing upwind but don't look forward to going off the wind. I should point out I don't race I just like to be efficient on the water and that is my aim. I can get up to the low 20s knots in about 10 kts of wind but I don't go much faster when its blowing 20 kts and that is what I am currently working on and I hope/think the s2 sails will help me, hence me getting them.

Re smaller sails - I have the new 3 cam Patrik 5.4 on order to see how that goes.

I should also say that the efficient profile of the sails means that once flying you can keep flying through holes and lulls relatively easily.

Has somebody alreadfy tested it?

The Ride foil is a rotational sail. I have rigged one but not used it. The person who bought it loves it (5.4)

For 2023 there will be a GT-3 foil which is a 3 cam "freerace" type foil sail designed to rig on a rdm. 4.8 to 8.4

In Patrik website there's "Ride-Foil" printed (2+1 cams 4,8 to 8.0.
No idea if we are talking about the same sail.

As a new comer on this forum, I can't post links but you can find some videos of the S2 sail on Alex Cousin's youtube channel (FRA752, a Patrik French rider).

I have had the S2 4.8, 6.0 and 7.2 for a few weeks. Have been on all of them 2 or 3 times. Super impressed with how these are going. 7.2 can get going in 10 knots with pumping. I dont think these sails rig flat, they have quite a nice shape. They are powerful but it's a nice power. They feel light with the Patrik booms and masts. The leach twist is more like a slalom sail and not tight like some of the other sail makers foil sails. I could not get the cambers to rotate at all when first rigged. Lucky I had my foil buddy who said to take the spacers out. After doing that they are the best rotating sails I have owned. Not sure why the spacers are in there to begin with. The mast sleeve is built tough and these sails are the real deal.

Has anyone tried the S2 for fin slalom sailing. I don't see why these won't work for that.

only my PD Race SF 5,0 - it works well in both worlds.

Yeah, seeing the S2 pics it appears quite belly and tight leech. Off course it is interesting to see how good the dynamic twist works.

However, at the moment, there are numerous different designs with foil racing sails. From what i can see in 2023 many brands go for "slimmer" / HA - sligtly tighter leech - less twist designs. I think (just my opinion) the aim is to allow the use of the smallest surface possible for given wind (still being efficient and solid during transitions) reducing the drag to the max.
If i'm right i thing the foiler must be a very high level sailor....

I have the S2 6,6 for testing and will do a YouTube video about it when I get some more water time with it. I tried it 3 times so far mostly in marginal conditions and with a bit of pumping it gets going pretty early. The profile is solid and been working with the spacers to make it rotate a bit better but it is not bad. Stability is really good.

I have my 6.0 and 6.6 rigged on rdm's . I takes a bit of fiddling to switch them over but I do prefer rdm masts.

What I noticed though is the guy on the 8.5 Flyer, in the light gusty conditions, was being super careful to stay just off the flat water, and as soon as the wind picked up he changed to a smaller sail, reason was the Flyer was so powerful that a gust could easily make them breach. Think they were using balanced harness lines because it would of taken a lot of effort to keep that sail sheeted in with forward lines even though they allow you to let a gust go more easily. Now they were on a big wing, but something to keep in mind for people who have never used a foil sail with cams.

There was a lot going on that particular day. The reason for running low on the foil has less to do with the powerful sail than with the short 80cm mast - points better with more mast in the water. I'm buying a used IQ foil set next week and I'm curious to see whether that longer mast, longer fuse, high-aspect wing matches better with the Flyer than my current very lifty mid-aspect foils. The cammed sails can be tuned for strong wind - that Flyer can be downhauled until it looks like an elephant ear, but since I had a 5.7 in the van and it was blowing 20+ there was really no reason to keep bullying the big sail. In truth I could probably sail 95% of the time using just that 8.5 and a 5.2 wave sail - balanced lines always.

It's a fin sail. I think that Patrik is working on a GT3 foil sail now. It's Defo not a dedicated foil sail.
GT3 has a longer boom than the RaceSF & Foil specific cammed sails. It's a slapper
