A bit from a session a couple of weeks ago. Big thanks to Mike Keys for the drone footage. 20 knot messy NW, on the MOZ Custom, Zulu 960 cm2 front wing and 209cm2 stab, 4.7 Kamikaze. The foil mast was a really early proto and not stiff enough using then tuttle/US adapter which pushed it up to 104cm. She was pretty nervous and pitchy. I now have the new stiffy and riding the setup is like chalk and cheese.

With the wind in this direction at the City end of the bay it is a bit messy, the waves very close together and a bit all over the place. We get Northerlies in the Winter lots, I have had 4 sessions this week. Seabreeze direction is South West and the waves have the full length of the bay to form. They are a bit wider spaced and bigger, can be 1.5 meters in 20 knots, awesome fun. In a westerly front they can be 2 meters , epic DW rides.
The bay really is a foil playground. Maybe one day I may do it in flat water, that would be novel.

It does look like you have excessive roll in those sweet carves around 1.20 - I'm guessing the flexy mast?

Starting to get the tips out a bit in some of the turns....wing doesn't ventilate at all, dont even notice it.

A really good example of the flexy mast problem is at 2.10. Unpredictable roll as well as some directional instability. The correct mast is way stiffer and does none of this. I,ll take some photos of the foil later toaday. Its pretty much production ready now so in a position to start making some.

So here is the Zulu range as it stands at the moment. The wings were primarily designed for winging yet are bloody awesome on the windfoil for freeriding. I designed them, Robbie Bense at Zulu fins makes the carbon stuff and I do the rest... The foil in the vid is the 960 cm front wing which is the one mounted to the windfoil fuselage in combination with the forward raked 209cm2 stab.....awesome combo. This one is a true all rounder, just so much fun and the forward facing stab loosens it up a lot for fast turns. We have an 1180 cm2 front wing which may almost be may favorite and the 790 for windier days or smaller riders. The 790 tool is being altered a touch to give this wing a touch more bottom end. We also have a 1330 cm2 in testing and a big 2000 beginner wing.
With the stabs there is the forward facing in 185 and 209cm2 and the high aspect in 178, 198 and 240cm2. I have a few other prototype stabs on the go at the moment.
Also working on some smaller racier wings, but that said none of these are slow, surprisingly fast!! I will get all of this on my website soon....I hope...ahhh, so much to do.
I will also have my own range of wingfoils coming out soonish!!!!

PPB is Porth Phillip Bay in Melbourne , Australia. The Zulu foil is a joint venture between Robbie Bense, Zulu fins in Capetown and myself. I designed everything, Robbie tooled and makes the carbon stuff, sends it to me. I organise everything else and finish it all here in Melbourne
