To start with I'm bolting on my Zeeko alloy foil.
The idea is to use an old board with an easily mountable foil to test it out.
Have some fun then get a system with Tuttle to fit to a decent board if I like the whole thing.

Keep us all updated. I had a look at a horue foil in one of the shops here last week. I reckon there is room for improvement.

Definitely keep us updated, been pondering this one myself. Plenty of old boards under the house and a carbon kite foil that is pretty easy to mount. Just don't know how well a kite foil will work on a sailboard.

Why'd you cut the tail off?

The windsurf foils with Tuttle connection have the front wing 100mm further forward than a kite foil. They also use bigger wings but I like getting moving a bit before foil kicks in.
To get the footstraps and foil position in line with more modern shaped boards I had to move it all closer to mast track. Plus it was a 9' board and I wanted to compact things to reduce enertia effects. And it gets my footstraps a bit wider.
Plus the nose and tail were a bit rotten.

Used to have a Torquay freeride board that was 150L and 80ish cm wide at tail.
This would have been ideal.

These things:

laminated with a cover of divinycell using epoxy and q-cells. These are chinook, so lots of places will have them.

If it doesn't workout Tony you can still do this.

Coutouts are all the rage, but those cutouts on the motorised ones take it to a new level.

All that is needed is 4 bolts the right length. And a little sanding underneath and it's ready to bolt foil on and go.

Be nice to hear your feedback Steve, regarding the two front wings in a few months
time after you have given them a bit of use. Mind you i don't think i can wait that long
before i order one.

Yea there's actually a row of sand bombies there that I should get Gippland ports to relocate that green bouy for.
