Hi,

Currently selling my JP 135, want to try something new, after a crossover board can wind and wing foil, a few reviews On line of different stuff, but very little real world real people reviews, I'm off to a test centre next weekend to try for myself but want to get real people's opinions.
My current kit is Np wind glide foil with large front wing, a 7.0m ezzy hydra and 5.8 Duotone F-type. I'm 93( Ish ) kg

Boards I'm considering)
JP free foil 130( been recommended)
Tabou magic carpet 120
Rrd pocket rocket 140
Fanatic Stingray 125 ( I know it's a windfoil board)
Fanatic Bee, which just popped up in a test.

My choices would be
1) free foil
2) Stingray or bee
What experience have people had

Have the PR 140 for 6 months now.
Lots of surface area, more than almost any other big board, great for big guys, needs big foils, can handle the biggest wings.
Seems really strong, extremely stable, almost like a Formula board in windsurfing.

If you want a crossover board I would recommend getting one with a mast track that allows you to have a universal to foil mast distance of at least 32in, also I would recommend getting one with boxier rails in the rear. There will be a new shredsled ~120L coming out soon that might be worth looking at. You can see it here:

Several good windfoilers around here, Berkeley, use their 115 Slingshot Alien Freestyles for both windfoil and wingfoil. Seems to work fine without needing to move the front foil. They switch back and forth.

Hey,

I've just ordered the Fanatic Stingray ltd 115 (with the 3.0 foil 1000 & 1500 wings) for the same kind of use you're describing and I'm in and around the same weight as you. I've had a couple of spins on a friends JP Freefoil 105 with the Glide wind, really lovely combo for carvy relaxed cruising around and playing on small swell. 105 is a touch on the small size for my weight so went for the 115, From what I can see the JP and Fanatic look pretty much identical specs wise

Also have the Jp Hydro 135 which I'm holding onto for more fast freeride type sailing and long distance cruising.

I was reading up on Stingray Ltd and they seem pretty much identical to freefoil, I've always liked the look of the normal Stingray but that's just too windfoil dedicated.

A little clip from the session (this was the first run) on the JP 105 with Glide Wind, 13 wing (I think) and a 5.3. Was really playful feeling lovely and compact for turning, but still stable and easy. Hoping the 115 will retain this while giving just a bit more slogging support for my weight. The Hydo 135 felt like a truck when I jumped back on it after.

The rumor I heard was that it it would have a full set of strap inserts for windfoil and wingfoil. I couldn't tell from the video above if that is true or not. I hope so

I went up to my nearest test centre yesterday, they dug out a new 130 free foil, my first thought was this is tiny compared to the 135, but I didn't need to worry at all. It was brilliant, totally matched my glide foil, so good it came home with me. Now the fun starts.
