the chord length below the first 20cm looks very short! Is it stiff enough?!

Yes, it is, actually. It's a super nice race foil, and very well built/finished compared to some of the other 'big' brands I've seen/tested. And Justine L and Lucas G have been doing well on it on the tour this year.
