August so far has been the complete opposite of July (we had 25 days of wind over 15+) but that's OK because I can still get rides in the lightest of winds and still be smiling

From the other videos I have made in the past and the awesome messages I get sent, there is still a lot of curiosity in light wind foiling and not having to spend thousands on race kit set up (nothing wrong with that of course and the carbon foil I use is not exactly cheap either) .... Hopefully this video has some helpful hints and tips using whatever you set up is?

BTW- I have retired my platform Core Adventure Sports and created a new one called "Peaple Creative" it's going to be a fusion of my 2 favorite passions which is Foiling and Film (or basically anything to do with watersports, photography, travel, videos etc.).
Also, as a disclaimer I will be a Slingshot Ambassador for Florida and so I may see you on a beach sometime in the future so stop and say hello and let's foil together and maybe I can get you in the next film

Thanks for posting Dean. Impressive light wind performance. Your moving at a pretty good clip for such light air. At 135lbs, i need at least those wind speeds to get going on my 5.2.

most of the footage was taken on days that winging was not doable and yet the speed you can generate wind foiling is very exciting.

Great advice about sail rigging -- little downhaul is the ticket for smaller sails in low winds.

If Slingshot comes out with an e-foil maybe we'll see some "look maw I'm foiling in no wind" videos from you.

Looks like you pump the rear of the board from side to side to get up ??

It's good you mentioned your hard top mast. I have two Naish sails that I rig on Ezzy masts and the leach blows open long before the bottom batten will rotate through.

I just booked a slip for my cruising boat in Cocoa for December through April. It's only a 7 hour drive by car from my house so we can pull off long weekends and such. That 7 hours means about 10 degrees warmer air and water temps. But it also gets me around other windfoilers like you! Looking forward to riding with ya! I wanna try that 926 wing!

Cheers mate, and yes, it's like a pumping yaw and I'm trying to feel the "hook" that's just my terminology

using my back foot, I am pushing really hard at the same time bearing off, after 3-4 good bumps I steer the board aggressively upwind and that "hooks" the foil to engage.....hopefully that makes sense?

Sounds like a plan I have a few different front wings to try and couple more on their way so you can test a bunch.

I used the hard top masts on different brands, and it may look like cr@p rigged up on the beach, but it pumps soooo good once you are on the water

Interesting. With that foil you are much more aggressive than I am on the turn to upwind, and you get flying earlier. I'll have to do that next time. Thank you, that is going to help a lot with this foil.

I think I was doing that sometimes without it being conscious. If I spend too much time pumping downwind I speed up and lose sail pressure too much. Swells complicate the timing.
