Looks like the conditions IQ Foil was designed for on a few days this week, with a couple too light.

Aussies are going well!

Grae has done well both in terms of consistent results and psychologically. Brushed off a bad first race with a win. DNF then 3. Consistently good sailing. He'd be 6th without drops and is sitting @ 4th for now.

Harry is 2nd for youth and doing well too

go team!

The medal races on Saturday are being streamed live on their youtube channel
Forecast isnt good for today, but Saturday around midday it looks decent. I guess if they dont race today then the top 10 as is will go into the medal races for the winner takes all. Daft format.

Yeah i turned it on coz it was on Foxtel when i got home after an epic foil session on IQ gear in Rockingham, and thought "excellent, Grae made the semis, cant wait to see how it goes", and then he went OCS in the first race.

That was his brother, Thomas that BFD/OCS'd in the medal race so he finished 10th overall.

In the below video from iQFoil U21 worlds equipment inspection they are using a multimeter to check for alterations in the foil wing leading edge. Does anybody know how this test works, are they using the Ohm meter to somehow check continuity of the carbon structure?

If the foil has been sanded back to carbon, it's conductive. If it isn't conductive, the paint layer is intact. '23 updated class rules
C 1.8 talks about maintenance, sanding & keeping the paint layer intact. The first time I saw this were photos from the Marseille Olympic test event. WS were also hand scanning front wings for design conformity.

each to their own. as a spectator I like it but i'm sure if i ever got good enough to get into a medal race i wouldn't be as happy with the format.
