I bought a nose protector but my glue job wasn't great. The protector used adhesive tape. Maybe the biggest problem is that the protector is on a rounded edge, but that's a whole other story. I think I could try two things:
1. put a thin layer of contact cement on the foam and board, press together, tape to hold it down while the contact cement
2. put a bead of silicon caulk between the foam and the board

I don't know if I'll ever want to remove the foam protector, but if I do, I don't know if the silicon caulk will take paint with it. I don't know if contact cement will take pain either for that matter.

I got strips of rubber from Clarke rubber & used spray adhesive on both sides after taping board to block overspray. Trimmed thickness of rubber at ends to allow it to wrap down over sides of board better. It worked well.

Are you saying this is how you put foam on your board, or are you talking about filling in a gap like I have? I've already glued this foam on, and part of it has come up.

Nice thick pad that's good, don't worry too much about the gap
I think the glues you have used should come off without damaging the board finish

This is mine, 20mm Thick EVA
NB- it gaps a couple of mm on the edge in places, but that does not matter, it's going nowhere

Your gaps look a little large, use a nitrile glove to wipe contact cement into the gap, let dry 10 min. and then press together and that should do it. Contact cement works best when both coated surfaces are allowed to dry before pressing together.

I used Pattex Classic contact adhesive to glue my EVA foam nose protector to my JP Magic Ride and it hasn't peeled of on 5 years. On another board where the nose protector was glued the same way I was able to peel it off after a year without damaging the paint.
