I went through the foil-academy lessons. They were good. Had some good ideas there. I also utilized the Sam Ross foiling videos as well. Between the two, big help. There was another video from big winds that discussed taking off the rear straps to learn. That was a great tip as well.

We sandgroper foilers call it the star destroyer. Similar looking to the concept Board JP built (but never went into production).

Case in point though, scarrgo was sailing around on his star destroyer well before they were. Not that it matters now

Oddly Wyatt describes a carve gybe but does a duck gybe. Strangely incoherent, but nice sailing.

Got my very first session in stable wind with sb gt-r foil at silvaplana 1800m high in the swiss alps. Water is very fresh, 10 days earlier it was still snow!
Have been waiting half a year for this day!

How are you enjoying the Starboard GT-R foil Pat? I switched from the NP AL Pinkie to the GT-R recently and love it. :)

Foiled the pinkie a week in egypt so ich think i can compare it to the gtr. Gtr without gtr rear wing. Have the race foil with 95 fuse so far. Pinkie was perfect to learn. With the "gtr" i learned to go up- and downwind. It is much more stable. And much more faster, really scary
At our lakes in switzerland we have real gusty winds, so maybe this the problem now for me. Yesterday we had more than 20 knots and i had some nasty dolphins at halfwind. So lot of work to manage this in the future.

DIY foil. The travails of doing your own R&D. Props to him for trying. I'm just sitting here typing.
