Good skills, like the music, kinda boring.
Give me a 85 liter board day, now THAT's fun.

Don't mind the haters. Sailed in similar conditions a couple days ago (but inland). Playing on every swell you can grab. Bliss.

If you have waves. There are a lot of places that are on the ocean that don't have wavesailable waves. We're just here doing the best we can with what we have. Azymuth is having fun and wanting to share it. Try not to measure his fun vs yours. We have enough Eltee sailors here who do that already.

There's enough darkness already out there. Try to be the light.

Great vid and super smooth riding! We only have one wind direction that gives us some lumps to swell ride on, but when it happens, that's absolute my favorite.

Exactly !
We seldom have waves locally in summer but we have awesome windswells with stronger seabreezes.

I probably should've mentioned - there's two sailing in the video, Simon and me ( JJ ).
Some of the video is a year old and I'd like to think we've improved since then - but I hope it still shows the fun we're having

I'll be getting my 2019/20 wizard 105 in the spring. I love how foiling allows you to vary your speed(unlike any windsurf board); you can go fast or slow, go up wind at crazy angles then sheet in with the back hand and get that g-force turn like Simon did at the end of the video

That's excellent.

Old (and sometimes fat) guys (and sometimes, but too often yet, gals) foiling should have its own thread.

I started foiling at age 70 and, after 165 sessions (I'm a nerd, I keep a log), have not looked back. Compared to formula, using small sails in light winds is pretty nice.

I got 3 days at 69, then 46 more last year.

Hope this is a good thread to share this one - for some reason, the thumbnail is broken but at last check the video was there.

Its amazing how far ahead of the wave they are riding the swell. It either says something about where the energy in the wave is at depth or else how little energy a foil requires. Either way very cool video in idyllic conditions.

Nice Video, the Drone shots are the best. The problem with having a Drone is you get a lot of shots of your friends but not so many of yourself

Foiling is fun, especially when the alternative is siting on the beach or shloging on a big board with a big sail. I think it's going to continue to grow because if you can windsurf its a quick learning curve and allows you to stay on a small sail planning/flying through all the turns. While making a non breaking swell feel like a head high breaking wave.

I still windsurf if I can be powered up on my 4.8 especially if there are breaking waves but foiling on the same 4.8 rather than struggling on a 6.0m and 100+L board is way more fun for me.

Thanks for sharing the vid - nice DTL wave riding!

Both vids are bloody awesome. Top skills. Great to see sailors pushing boundaries and having a heap of fun. I have a loooong way to go til I master gybing a foil, so I love seeing others do it and learn from their techniques.
I prefer windsurfing to foiling, but when it's less than 12-14 knots, I'll get out the foil and a sub 6m sail because it sure beats lugging a 7+m sail around on conventional gear.
