Foiling advice.
Half a dozen posters regularly offering often contradictory advice with no context.
To avoid unnecessarily confusing everyone especially newbies, it would be helpful when offering tips to explain how you sail, at what level and your average conditions. Better still upload a video so we can judge for ourselves.

Harness line length, sail size, nose protection - a few recent posts, advice offered is often meaningless without supporting information

Maybe Seabreeze can audit the posters and give qualified posters a blue tick like Instagram. Then we can know who is full of sheet. :))

Not just foiling.
You also get people asking for advice without adding any context, and some people reply from their own discipline and method sailing which has little to do with the original poster's. It may have been well meant trying to help, but just ends with confusion and misleading information.

I think Graham Ezzy on his coaching tips FB page asked for anyone who replies with tips to supply photos/videos to clarify/back up what they were saying. Its a good idea

Thought I'd better double check that, just in case!

Group rules have been updated as per some requests. Basically: - No selling or spam. The exception is when you can offer an exclusive offer to the group, in which case you must check with a moderator. -Back it up. If you post a lot of advice for other people, post photos/videos of yourself sometimes. This serves 2 purposes: 1) it helps back up your claims and 2) we can see whether you practice what you preach. I think video/photos is a bit much. not everyone owns a go pro, or is gonna lash out on one just for seabreeze advice, or spend an hour searching the web for footage that shows what theyre trying to say.

but agree, should at least say what youre sailing around on when asking or offering advice. Lotsa times offering advice, then thinking afterwards "maybe this person sails different orientated equipment to me".

You guys are funny.

Half the fun of coming here it just to see how ridiculous some of the posts are.

I thought in the current generation of political correctness everybody's opinion matters also doesn't everybody get a trophy now.

Agreed pics and vids are so much more helpful.

You can pick up a Gopro Hero4 Silver that records in 1080p for less than a $100 on fleabay.

I don't understand the serial posters that just keep pumping out the same redundant spill and then go on to say "I don't really like foiling"...bit weird if you ask me.

Here's a pic because I bloody love wind foiling...I LOVE IT

I think people express their opinions based on their current experiences, which of course vary, but I think it useful to hear all sides. I doubt anyone is taking anyone person's post as gospel.

Theres a certain type of people out there who aren't after help, theyre after validation for what they believe. Despite having 10 other seemingly more experienced people telling them there's a better way, they only seek that one reply that tells them they got it right. Theres been a few on here recently.
