Hi there
has anyone used a Starboard foilX with either the freeride plus or GTR plus foils?

I've been using a successfully using the recommended supercruiser, with Goya fringe sails.
However I've recently started using a NP free flight, and this sail is much more of a freeride sail than manoeuvre oriented sail...so I'm pushing the SC to go quicker than it really wants to go. The SC speed tops out around 20 mph.

So I'm thinking about trying to move to a more higher aspect wing than the 1700 SC.

Last years FoilX were recommended to be used with the SC only.
However this year, Starboard now states that the freeride plus, and GTR plus are also compatible for use with the 2021 FoilX..so I'm thinking of maybe giving it a go.

Has anyone had any experience with using these foils, or HA wings with a FoilX?

Is it going to be too twitchy to ride with HA wings as the mast track is really far back compared to the Starboard free foil

Thanks Rod

I think it will be great. I use a similar setup (180x73cm board, freeride/freerace foil), and its awesome, speed, glide through lulls, stability in the jibes, and loads of air time & distance in jumps.

If you look closely, most vids on the net by Starboard on the FoilX actually have it paired with a GTR.

I have been using the Starboard FoilX with a 95+ fuse, 255 stab, 110 mast and 1100, 800, 650 and 550 front wings. All configurations work great. Less power and more twitchy at speed than with the Starboard Foil122, but tighter and more fluid carving.

I use my 2020 foilx105 with my 1000-75-330 SB foil on a 95 mast. Tons of fun! Also use the 800 with it but the 1000 has a little more glide in the swells.
