We have a couple of doner boards here that need Deep Tuttles installed, couple of queries.

Had a couple of numbers mentioned for the job but they were a bit higher than expected without the cost of the box itself. Anyone out there that has experience installing Deep Tuttle boxed and a good price (PM me if you like),

Any videos of the process too. Post a link if you can so we can apreciate the work involved and justify the cost/skills involved.

Then the angle of the box, have the box neutral so that the leading edge of the foil is perpendicular the the bottom of the board and the fuselage is paralelle to the board too anr have 0-2 degree angle built in? Ive always thought that the fuselage would be parralelle to the board.

Im also chasing 2 Foil Deep Tuttle boxes if anyone knows where some might be hiding/available. TIA

I'm gonna tell you now about 200-250? is a representative price for the box installation, excl. the box. (here in the Netherlands at least. I would personally tune the board a little nose up. All foilboards we design at F-One have a dose of tailkick to make sure of this. I wouldn't know any exact numbers, but I can tell you the standard kick of a formula or slalomboard is usually a little on the low side. (at speed the board starts flying nose down, which I find dangerous.

I did the box installation myself, never having meddeled with epoxy / carbon or any technical things before, and after about a 100-150 sessions the board is still holding up. I jump with the foil regularly and go out at sea in wave conditions (20kts +). You could try doing it yourself as it's not rocketscience, just some work.

I feel that there is a market in WA for a repairer who doesnt have another life (most local repairers have real jobs) I think that id enjoy the creative side of it but the fumes are bad. Stay tuned i guess... lol

Tried barn or Man Overboard yet?

Ive not had to do any real major repairs yet, but im finding doing my own repairs to be a bit of fun. Doing something like a foil box install, its down to whether you want it to still function as a normal board and still look good i guess.

If its a board youve dedicated to foiling then i say go for it. Just over engineer it all.

I installed a foil box on my Isonic 117 similar to how it was done in this video. This vid is for a SUP but the process is pretty much the same.
