Hey Paducah, were/are you there? I was, but I did not race because I could not imagine making my gear work in those light winds. Of course, it helped a lot that they were fit enough to pump like mad much of the time.
Was. Crossed the starting line a couple of times Friday and realized that I'd only be holding the big dogs back so retired each race. Saturday, I stayed in as somehow I blew a hole in the rail of my board the previous day. Seeing as even a 10 wasn't working for some really good guys, I don't think I missed much.
Most of the pumping was at the start and not bad by my low wind locale standards. Interestingly, maybe because it didn't matter, the top guys Saturday were jibing upwind to stay off the water.
Aside from my own shortcomings, it was a sight to behold and glad I was there to witness it. I'm looking forward to the Olympics. It will be an impressive site, to be sure.
