6.5 years into it and I can't get enough, trying to push thru the turns harder and faster - the best part of foiling for me

Addicted is not a strong enough word...
The bigger the swell the better! 20-25 knots is the sweet spot. Taken some video but too lazy/busy to edit. But here's some tracks and a pic of some kit

I reckon we have an advantage over wingers and kite foilers in ability to power-carve fast downwind

My wife would certainly call it an addiction. I was out 7 hours one day and she was.. "I was about to call search and rescue !!."

I am absolutely loving the "Foil carving" When I stated foiling I thought it was about challenging myself to see how fast I could go. I soon realised that where foils absolutely shine is riding swell. I live in Melbourne and Port Phillip Bay has a big, steep wind swell as its shallow for its size.....going fast on a foil is terrifying in those conditions and the place is just perfect for swell riding. So I changed mindset and now all I do is sail upwind and chase swell downwind...its just so awesome.
Last week I sailed 3kms upwind then did a 7.5km downwind chasing what at times was over a 2 meter swell then back upwind. It was so, so ,so much fun.

swell riding for me is #1, smooth physical technical exhilarating and a pure type surfing, without the crowds
Melbourne (gday Martin!) then Illawarra now Thailand (surprisingly, in Pranburi area where I live heaps of wind and swell, plus amazing scenery)
longtime faithful to Supercruiser, lately Superflyer XL 1500, and SB 110 mast makes it even more fun
At 63 I leave speed to younger, sponsored bodies

Amazing how big ugly chop for a B+J board becomes too much fun with a foil
