I have had my settings the same for the last year. I felt i was not progressing so thought why not shake things up a bit...
Foil mast back 2cm
Front sraps back 3 cm
Uni joint back 10cm
What a difference!!!
A little more.speed, still a little front footed the way I like it. Back foot is now planted in the half strap at all times.
But what I like the most a the speed in transitions sail ducks come easily and more comfortable in switch stance with the power on

The Baja track porn has started.

I haven't made changes as big as yours, but I did move both the foil and sail masts back 1 cm recently and am pleased with the results. Always keep trying to improve.

See you in 3 months.

Do you windfoil in La Ventana? If yes what sails do you use? How many windfoilers are there? I windsurfed there about a decade ago.

Yes, La Ventana. I use foil freeks and freeks in the smaller sizes 3.3 to 5.2. The above session was on 4.0. Not many here now as season has not fully started only seen 2 others. Last season when wind was on there was max 30 or so on the water out of 400+ riders

So you've compacted the foil/uni geometry by 8cm, but also moved everything back.

Have you tried keeping the original uni position, but moving the foil forward 8cm, and straps as required?

If you like the improved transition speed with the new compact geometry, I reckon moving it forward, a more centred board stance, would improve even more. I'm riding like that, and works for me. Curious what you think?

I understand what you are saying but alot of why is did it this way was determined by my ride, limited strap position.. I have alot of volume in the tail so was trying to get up earlier in bumpy conditions also. Which I have achieved.
I have a Fanatic foilstyler 93 I use when it gets proper windy. Will likely do as you said as there are more options with straps

So whats your universal to foil mast distance now Jayson?

I am definitely a creature of habit lol. Not sure if its holding me back or helping me progress by not f'ing with things.

You would have had the same result leaving the mast and moving everything else back 2cm less. If I moved my mast foot back that far I'd launch to the moon. Were you very heavy with back foot before, to get lift? A mate here had foot way fwd and back foot behind strap. Working against each other, foot telling board to keep nose down and rear foot trying to lift the nose

If anything I was a little too much front footed.
Moving the foil mast has a greater effect than moving the UJ. The result has put me planted in both straps feeling balanced for more manouverabilty when riding swell. There is no way you could get away with/or make this sort of change on race orientated gear. The tuttle box keeps you limited.
