I was thinking of getting a 93 cm. Nolimits carbon mast for my hoverglide windfoil? Anyone tried one? How about Project Cedrus? Phantasm seems too expensive. I have 76 and 84 wings on 160 Levitator. 6'4" 220 lbs. Thanks, first time posting

i would first ask what you are trying to achieve? reduction in weight? stiffness?

If you're just trying to lighten the setup, yes the NoLimitz mast is very light. Under 3lbs. I think the equivalent HG mast is 4.5 to 5lbs.

I have not seen the NoLimitz Hover Glide fuselage interface. If done well, it could be a better connection than the original Hover Glide connection.

Project Cedrus has a Hover Glide adapter as well... I will measure the chord thickness tomorrow. Mast weight is about 3.7-4.5lbs depending on mast, adapters, and top plate. For windfoiling, I would recommend the Clydesdale mast.

Another way to lighten the load is to lighten the glider. HG parts are pretty heavy. I think just the HG Infinity 84 front wing is over 5lbs. My HG i99 glider with short fuselage was 9.2lbs.

Meanwhile, the SABFOIL W1100 (2100cm2) front wing is only about 2.6lbs and a complete glider for SABFOIL is 4-5lbs... and that's weight at the end of a mast. This matters a lot when carrying your kit... perhaps less important when in the water.

SABFOIL also makes a fuselage for aluminum masts that can be bolted to the SS HG mast. This may be another way of lightening the load.

Some of these weights are for wing/surf setups, but gives you an idea of the weights involved.

Thanks for the info, yes looking for something lighter.

If you want to stick with SS you can buy the 730 lower and with the regular 92 carbon mast not the wide carbon the price is a few hundred less or go with the wide 87 aluminum as it's claimed to be 20% lighter than the old hover glide.I don't think you would be getting a huge performance gain by putting a very expensive carbon mast on the hover glide.

I guess I should start with the PFI 730 lower. Just wondering what Phantasm wing would replace the I84 wing?

Agreed. For me I only really notice the weight of the foil when carrying the gear and the leverage of a heavier fuselage does play quite a role.

I assumed someone mentioned putting a phantasm fuselage on the hoverglide mast.
