Did not catch any new editions after the first one, and a few short clips? Would like it to continue!
I was wondering the same thing.
But isnt there a way to invite Balz to this forum?
is there a more active forum then this, regarding windfoiling?
Would be nice to have Balz and likeminded pro's included.

RAD Flight Club is in progress and I'm excited frothing and learning together in the upcoming weeks again ![]()
news will be shared via the website and on the socials.
in the meantime feel free to follow my Funboarding Progression Channel on instagram @radiculo
see you on/over the water ![]()
cheers balz
I've got to get braver!!
Likewise. Sadly, I've gotten complacent the last couple of years and the present water temps aren't helping. The water is going to warm soon but I've still got to work on the complacency. Part of me just hates messing up and getting wet.
My petty troubles aside - so happy he's sharing this knowledge and inspiring us to up our game and try new things!
I think it is great the effort Baz is putting into these tutorials / videos.
I'm sure most people have already joined the Rad Flight Club, but if you haven't, can i suggest you join to show our support. ( its free)
Like most things nowday's the number of subscribers you have matters.

I still need to get the stones to really send it on a foil jump ![]()

Was totally skunked on wind this weekend. Thought that at least the iqfoil setup could get going but it dropped to barely anything, just enough to putter around at 2.0 knots.
Was practicing helis with the 9.0, ducking, and trying to sail it in a straight line backwinded, all just floating of course. What I noticed was to be stable backwind with the 9.0 and iqfoil board, I was really going deep downwind. I was trying to eek it out more upwind, but just couldn't quite steer it at a higher angle.
Anyway, hopefully one day I'll actually try it foiling on smaller gear. They felt better than ever with some practice this weekend, but of course it all gets more complicated when you're flying on the foil.

His video got me motivated on them again too
Had a windy day yesterday and it was 5.6/6.7 finning weather. With my comfort on the fin vs. foil for tricks I started trying forward loops in the most basic way. Out of straps, practicing the head turn and shove sail windward, sheeting in, and tucking. Got ragdolled a bunch on my good side, purposefully. When I tried it in the straps I got stuck to the water, so I really need to work on my pop. But, I wanted to overcome at least one fear of that motion of deliberately catapulting.
He just put out a short on the foil chop hop.
The older Neil Pryde video breaks it down much simpler though.
I really need to work on these.
Well, I'm trying. Not 100% sure I clear the foil.
Feel like a I need more pop still. And to really pull up my legs but the timing feels so strange.

"did that look like a jump"?
Sweet lets post our flight club footage here for motivation ![]()
Good stuff. When the timing is right it's amazing how much pop there is. Takes you by surprise esp as we spend so much time trying to avoid a foil-out!
I started off worrying about coming down too hard and flat so just mash the back leg down, sheet out a little to encourage the nose up then sheet in once the board is well up and out pushing up for high nose and then a stabiliser first landing. The flat and fast landing maintaining speed is possible too but it's easy to exit out of the front door. My port tack feels good, starboard tack is still messy timing to get the leg control in the right sequence.
My fin brain says to look for a little ramp to help but in fact you can launch very well off nothing. Have fun!

Good call on sheeting out. I think I sheet in more than I should which forces the nose down.
I am also only in 10-14kts max. Couldn't get the 5.6 to get foiling so I'm on a 7.5 ( others were on up to an 8.0 but a lightweight was on a 5.2 foil freek). Are you able to get good pop in that wind or do you need more, or a faster foil?
Yep 14kts, 5.2 foil freek and Sab 909 plenty. That's my biggest rig these days. I'm about 82kg...
Yeah I'm 91-93 kg after dropping some weight from 98. 909 looks a bit faster than the ptm 926, I'll have to put in my ptm 930 in.

Good on you for giving it a go! ![]()

Hopefully it would be a more fun video of his ![]()
Tried just regular chop hopping on fin 5.6 and 6.7 today with my 115 dyno. Tried to focus on more over the board, pulling up (a lot easier on the lighter fin board). Starting to get a feel. I think it'll translate to foil.

????
Balz Mueller showed that ist possible to sail with an old school Triangel sail
Yesterday someone from our Windsurfing club rented me a similiar one and i give it a Go
What a fun in light Wind.
That damn thing has more bottem end power than my 5,6 Foil freek
It kept me going in about 8 knots and was flyinng in about 5 knts
Once a gust was hitting me it was very diffiucult to Control so it blows me from the Foil once in a while
I was surprised that there we're no major changes necessary in mast foot position
Used my standard free ride Foil
Speed ist very slow with about 15 to 16 knots only
But again
On our tiny Lake in Low Wind conditions a Lot of fun
Hast anyone else tried a similiar old sail

Foilklaus, what foil did you match that with? I have an LT sail that would enjoy an outing.
Thank heavens Balz never got the "hype is over" memo. ![]()
