Wish they put that mast track further back and with the nut entrance in the middle, otherwise really good looking board.

Oooh that looks tasty! should be a very fun board to wind foil in high winds, and get you winging in less than ideal conditions

Frist sessions today. I took some video but my camera fell off so rip

I wanted to see if I could wing and windfoil with the same strap positions. So set up front straps all the way forward. I put the foil all the way forward #19 and it worked very well. First time using footstraps on the wing, took a bit of getting used to but seemed to really like them by the end. It did not seem too much volume, relative to my experience on my 90L wing board. Much easier to get up onto.

Then I rigged a sail. I placed the sail universal all the way at the rear of the mast track, For some reason (confusion) I thought I should put the foil further back in the track compared to winging and put foil at 10cm but progressively moved it forwards to 18cm. I find it really hard to gybe and maintain control in the gusts when the foil is not fwd enough.

Overall, I loved the board for winging, the windfoil session was pretty challenging with it being gusty and I should have been on 3.2 not 3.7. Not to mention lots of fiddling with foil position. I don't think it will replace my freestyle anytime soon but I am sure it will get some sail time, especially as it looks like I will not even need to move the foil to switch to sail.

Foil was sabfoil 799 wing/450 stab no shims on long fuse (899)

With the UJ so far back maybe have the front foot straps much further back as well with the foil located in the middle of the tracks and work forward or aft from there?

in the last pic the distance from the front straps to the UJ pressure is very little and maybe making wind foiling over sensitive?

Yeah, need to experiment. On my freestyle I like the front foot straps 12 in from the universal, closest I could get them on the baby shred sled is 14 in. It was super loose as it was set up, kind of felt like I was doing a very bad Greg Glazier impersonation

Finally had a solid windfoil session on baby shredsled and loved it. It gets going early and is super agile. The geometry is slighly different than my freestyle and if anything it seemed to turn quicker (maybe cause mast track is more forward?). It was mostly flat water with smallish swell which I was able to fully rip. I think in very big swell 1.5+ metre I would likely prefer my freestyle, but in yesterdays session I wasn't really missing my freestyle (sad face). Baby SS gybes effortlessly

I winged on it at the same spot saturday and was able to use the same strap positions for windfoil and wing (which was real cool). I am not using back strap. Foil mast was in same place for wing and wing too, which is surprising. I think I stand with a much wider stance for windfoil which probably balances things out.

Yeah. I can see why people love that wizard 90. Unfortunately my gopro sunk the day after the SF trip so might not be video for a while. Although I do have a fried with a drone

I use the long fuse for both. I have tried short fuse winging and just don't seem to have the skill for it. Not sure if its just cause of what I used too, or not but I am surprised more entry level wingers don't go long fuse. But I am sure that the stability that a long fuse brings can vary with other factors like wing design, stabilizer size and shims. I guess my hope is that with this board I will have easy access to wind foil and wing foil with just loosening a few track bolts and moving foil for/aft

Yea, getting through another Canadian winter in one piece -- having something to look forward to makes the pain a little more bearable.

I'm a bit of an equipment junkie -- sometimes I have to go through a number of things before I find something that just clicks. In 2014 I purchased an Isonic 114 windsurf board and after using it a few times I asked it: "Where have you been all my life?" I really like the Kujira foils but the shorter fuse doesn't translate to wind foiling very well -- great for winging though! If Takuma offered a longer fuse I would have used those foils for wind foiling. It'll be interesting to see how the Phantasms compare.

Yea, getting through another Canadian winter in one piece -- having something to look forward to makes the pain a little more bearable.

Windsurfing and windfoiling are not the easiest sport, nothing better than when you stumble across gear that allows you to perform much better. I don't have the same experience surfing, where my performance is primarily skill limited. Yes certain boards do work better in certain conditions but the impact of different kit eg the right versus the wrong fin don't seem to have way as much impact on surfboards than they do on windsurf boards
