A solid 25 knots in the video.
Did a downwinder in over 30 knots when I removed the GoPro (noticeably easier without that little weight 1/2m off the end of the boom) - probably the windiest seabreeze I've foiled
Definitely miss having full footstraps in these conditions.

Glad the 799 was working for Simon in those stong winds. Did you have the mast foward in the tracks on that freestyle and do you like that combo better then the wizard with the shorter sail to foot distance?
Looked noticeably quick out there. Very smooth

JJ how many cm2 do you think your chopped 926 is? Looks fast and glidey.

Amazing conditions there! I would prefer a fin, much easier to control.
We here in switzerland also have wind, over 100kmh last night. But too cold for me.
So why do you "modify" the 926? Broke a tip or what?

Connor, I'm running 2deg shim with the mast all the way forward in the tracks, front bolts in the back of the front holes of the 92 mast.
The SS 87 Freestyle combined with the SAB 799 is super loose, not for the faint hearted
The Wizard 114 with the Phantasm 730 has a secure "locked in" feel that encourages you to push harder
I was riding the Freestyle 87 for the challenge,
In high winds the Wizard 114 is probably easier to ride as the increased width translates to increased control

Wow must have been very loose your pretty much on a Balz Muller kit out there
799 is definitely not as locked in as some other wings like the infinity 76. The heel side turns are ridiculously tight. Have you been trying the downwind 360s with the 799. I have a feeling it would be a great wing for those. Great glide and speed, turny but still floaty.

Would be cool if you guys did a comparison of the phantasm 730 and the SAB 799
Also have you tryed the 799 on the phantasm fuse? I reckon you might like that wing postion better as I think the phantasm fuse puts the front wings further forward then the moses. I've heard the moses pedestal masts aren't as stiff in comparison to the SS ghost whisperer masts. Are the phantasm wide body masts a lot stiffer?

Me too. Small Exocet Cross or Tabou 3S type board and 4.7-5m decent 5 batten B&J sail and it would be exciting blasting around. Foiling looks too slow to me.

Nice jibe at 2:55. Reverse foot is a good way to avoid disturbing the pitch trim during the jibe. Switch feet afterward. My jibes are terrible, so I will be working on this method this coming summer.

I really like the end of boom camera view. Yes, the downside is the swing weight of a camera out there a half meter behind the boom. I have made this kind of camera mount myself.

This year I will be trying the Clew-View camera mount. Lighter weight, and closer to the end of the boom for less swing weight. www.clew-view.com

A few years ago, same spot, same wind and sea state I did a 31 knot average speed nautical mile (34 knot peaks) on a slalom board with a cam race sail - for sure it was a blast.
Downwind carving those 2m windswells in the vid was just as challenging but way more fun

It's about 1,050 cm2
I cut out 2x50 cm wide sections from the centre of the foil as I wanted to keep the tips.
Carves better at 830 width although I would like a 926 as well - Jesper rips on his with a small sail.
Covid supply issues have made it difficult for us to get the Phantasm wings we wanted.
Hopefully we'll get them soon.

It does sound a bit wrong but in a good way

Riding switch-foot down a swell until you feel stable on the new tack is definitely easier.

Thanks for the link - l might order one, it looks like it protects the GoPro which would be handy in the shorebreak.

High wind foiling yea it's a thing would much rather be foiling than on a fin in that situation easier on the body but the get off's can be. Love when I can rig my 3.4 so much fun to throw a small sail around.

Not yet, I'm still learning on bigger kit. Its not my intention to swap to foiling in strong winds, but you never know.
Whats the shorebreak like where you launch? For a 2m swell I guess you have a launch place somewhere a bit more protected?
