Has anyone had much experience with the JP line of foil boards of the last couple of years?
Are they much better than just using a fin board? (worth the expense of another board).
I've read all the reviews I can find, but there's always a marketing push behind any review.
I'm looking at the JP wood pro 133 specifically, and pairing it with a NP Flight FR foil.
I'm a seasoned, (but rusty) slalom sailor, and amateur foiler (mostly kite-foiling), looking to try windsurf foiling again.
I tried the Neil Pryde Pinky foil years ago, but ended up selling it before I trashed my beloved slalom boards, (Pre foil-approved boxes).
Has the equipment improved as much in recent years as the manufacturers claim?
Any feedback appreciated.

JP Foil Boards are great, you just gotta get the one that suits the foiling you want to do. If you want course racing foiling get something 90cm wide and above, if you want to do freeride or slalom look at something 85cm wide and under.
The real issue is to get a good foil that makes foiling easy as the old NP Aluminium foils were bad. Foil technology has improved drastically since then so get the right foil for the board and it will help.

Thanks mate, I'm looking to go for the free ride foil and board. Middle of the range, not beginner, but not race.
Something that I will not out grow.
Nico Prien has a good review on his Youtube channel on the three different foils.
I'm glad you said that foils have improved, because that pinky foil I had was pretty hard to tame.

Ok cool. Yeah the pinky had a short fuselage which made it quite pitchy. It was ok once you got used to it but now gear is a lot more stable. Id be looking for a fuselage or no less than 100 cm if youre freeriding and not surfing or anything.

It looks to me like that's a foil capable fin board? Can we talk you into getting a dedicated foil board?

Yes they are dedicated foil boards for sure and Wood is the best construction
