Assuming you can somehow tweak the different connection between different brand mast and fuselage, what to expect when you use a good mast with different brand "airplane" ?

Hold on, let me ask Chat GPT.

I find this so frustrating. There needs to be a tutle style agreement between manufacturers about the mast to fuselage design. 95% similar but mostly incompatible. Darryl in wa had fun making custom adapters, filling and drilling new holes and building frankensteinesk foils a few years ago.

Yep annoys the f*$k out of me too.

I understand the IP in the designs of the various components but given fuses aren't falling off masts (at least not now slingshot has their act together ) and wings/stabs aren't falling off fuses, where is the benefit in not standardising?

Switching brands is a pretty expensive exercise so suppose it's a good way for brands to lock in their customer base.

IF using a different ""airplane" with a good stiff mast doesn't affect the system reliability/safety and performance (this is my question), yes, it's frustrating not having a standard connection mast-fuselage.

I think any foil is designed to be balanced considering the sum of the single parts.
I wonder if upgrading the mast stiffness (but with different geometry) results in a crappy stuff or what

I've built fuselages to do this and honestly it's not worth the effort most of the time.
That said I'll be doing it again
