gday guys and happy easter.

i was wondering if anyone has any advice for me about tube riding.
latley ive been getting into a few barrels but i can never seem to make it out. and its not the wave closing out or anything like that. i think it has to do with the way im trimming the board, ill put too much pressure on my toes when going right (im natural) and get sucked up higher and higher on the wave befroe i eventually get flipped and go over the falls. just after some tips of what works for people. do you grab rail or whatever.
cheers

well luck you ayyyy,

I guess you gotta sort get the board in trim but your weight is on the front foot so you can make the light at the end of the tunnel, if your getting sucked up the lip then you gotta be on the front foot it sounds like your aybe slightly on ya back foot,, any suggestion anyone I would like to know toooo!!

But ay it aint easy!!

If ur getting sucked over the falls chances are you either hav'nt got enough speed or ur angle to the pocket is too "acute".
Just relax a little, dont get all over excited when you see the section start to throw over you and Dont be in a hurry to "get out".
If ur trimming inside the barrel then thats a bloody big scary wave. Just hold ur line a little and relax, keep ur eyes upen and try not to hold ur breath.

I seem to have my back knee bent so that its easier for the "ball" of my back foot to feel the inside rail in the face. If ur weight is too far foward ur not using the rail and will have trouble steering it through, or possibly get stuck up the face.

Hope this helps!!!

Cheers to Tube time, aye

have you tried shuffling a little further up the board like some of the pro's, cause it seems to work for them. Good luck anyway

I am with Kearnsy,if your getting sucked over the falls, your not going fast enough!
Drop the back knee which makes your body weight move forward, this will give you the speed to exit, set the rail straight before the covered section drop the back knee hang in and Bobs your uncle all the best!

I like to try and trim a little higher as you entre the section so you can adjust as it throws and you can see you exit and start looking to place your next bottom turn...

agree.

do a little pump up the face before the lip comes over.

funny thing about surfing is... you tend to go where you look, thats why a kook will always run over you when he's looking at you when riding a wave...

tubes are the same deal.

take a high line and look down the line. it doesn't need to be an angry triple over head barrel to be able to trim inside it. (most surf mags barrel photos are full of sh1t tricks of the lens) its subtle but, don't 'pull in' too hard or you will drag too much rail in the face of the wave and get sucked over

tube riding will give your surfing style like nothing else... no pooman stance ever made it outta a tube.

follow your hand... point to where you want to go

and like what has already been said.. don't hold your breath and don't close your eyes
