I was in Portugal in November in the Peniche area. We had waves everyday except 1 and we could have surfed anyway we had already been there for a week thought and wanted to head south.

Im pretty sure they have waves all year round but the crowds are shocking the warmer it gets

Watch out for the summer flat spells in that part of the world once May comes around. From May through to Sept can be pretty bad at times - I spent a month in Morocco in August once and hardly got a wave over waist high. I would try and go early May as opposed to late May if you can do that. We never used to bother hunting for waves once May came around - we used to wait until the end of Sept and spend those summer months exploring other parts of Europe. Although Scotland will have some.

There are some wicked waves in both of those countries. I love Morocco as a destination - great food, interesting landscapes and more right hand point breaks than you can throw a stick at. Well worth some of your time and hard earned!

Hope you get some good ones.
