I see a fella over here thats made hollow boogie board looking things with fins on but I think he made it himself. It has fins and looks well made.
Is that what you are looking at?
One of my mates has one arm and uses a modified body board that he has put fins in so he can steer it better have you tried anything like that?

Edit I just saw that you dont want to ride a booger, sorry skim reading

THink there's a guy - Tom Wegener (I think that is his name?) making alaias and belly boards over there. He could be worth a shot?

what about a mat - they are pretty popular at the moment - it looks like the amound of speed you can get on those things is pretty amazing

I managed to tear some wierd muscle on the inside of my leg.

Couldnt stand up but at the time could after the second day resist the waves on offer.

I just used an ordinary board (6 8) and went between lying down and kneeling.

Even on small days I grab the kids soft top and belly board that.

I would experiment with some ordinary boards as it becomes all about small adjustments forwards and back.

The problem is that you dont have the leg power to get up a belly board up and going.

bad leg means having to rely on shoulder strength rather than fins which is why I reckon just trying an ordinary board as a starting point.

Thanks guys for your replies, i can use the leg to kick to get onto the waves but have
muscle damage and drop foot when i swing leg around to stand up my foot catches the rail , a belly board is what i'm after . My board is a 6ft 6, with a belly board i would be able to stay in the pocket producing more fun. what do you think timber or foam/glass
bellyboard. cheers cheffro

Hey cheffro you could try something like this

Where are you based?
I've got a little 5'4" compsand kneelo that Katana built that you can try out as a paipo if you like. Short, fat and fast.
One of those mini sims would do the job too...

Yeah I'm in WA sorry mate. That one above isn't one of mine it's a belly board made by Bruce Hart in Sydney.
This bloke is up your way and something like this would be sick.

Ronnie Goddard (arkgee on here) would be worth having a chat with too.

Yeah I would give Ron Goddard a call or email. He is a very clever shaper and you will be guaranteed he will put alot of thought into a design for you.

I once surfed at Broken Head with George Greenough on his mat. When you are that full of stoke for surfing, all you need is a rubber tube to have fun. He talked to me for ages about surfing.

^^^^ yep, it doesn't matter what you ride as long as you are having fun (and not endangering anyone else).
