How much swell do you need at the popular spots to get a worth while wave. Could this weekend 1.5m swell be enough ?

ROTTNEST IS CRAP!
THE WIND IS ALWAYS 15 KNOTS STONGER THAN THE MAINLAND AND 90% OF THE TIME ALL THE WAVES AROUND ARE BLOWN OUT!
EVEN IN A OFFSHORE SE WIND THE ISLAND IS PRITTY MUCH UNSURFABLE.
AND FOR SOME REASON THE PLACE IS SOOO PACKED
MOST OF THE WAVES ON THE ISLAND REQUIRE A NORTHERLY WIND DIRECTION. AND IF YOU LIVE IN PERTH YOU KNOW. WE ONLY GET NORTHERLY WINDS ABOUT 10 DAYS A YEAR.
OH YEH AND DID I MENTION TRANSPORT ON THE ISLAND IS PROBALY THE WORST IN THE COUNRTY.
OH YEH AND THE TENSION DAY THAT IS JUST ONE IN A MILLION.. WHY DONT U THINK THEY SHOOT THAT PLACE ALL THE TIME.....? COZ ITS MAYBE THE LEAST CONSISTANT WAVE IN WA.
DONT BOTHER WITH ROTTO.
HIT UP ALABNY AND ESPRENCE... SICK WAVES ALL YEAR ROUND. AND ALMOST UNSURFED... YOU CAN FIND A WORLD CLASS SECRET SPOT JUST TO YOURSELF..

nah not true.... if u pick the right time of year and the right swell it goes off and there is almost always a break that can be found that isnt blown out u just have to hunt for it if u go early in the morning it is mint as!!! trust me i have been to rotto many times (up to 16 times a year) the best thing to do is go there the night b4 a good swell is forecast and stay in tent land for the night. my m8's do it all the time they have come 2 skool with pics of it about 6-7 foot solid at box.

all in all u just have to hunt for it and plan ahead

went last week end, better than any bali wave i've seen with my own eyes ( have seen photos off uluwatu in mags but, almost enough to break up with missus for)

saw some crazy shark biscuit pulling into some un makeable drops[}:)], never had any respect for boogie boarders till then, might share some waves with them for a change

wot evs man, rotto goes off if you plan it to the right winds. rotto works even with a small swell. starks goes mental wen its goin off, so try there even on a small day it works too. cathedral rock works sik on a sizy day aswell.

Rotto is brilliant. Just like down south, up north, and at Indo; you have to pick the right time.

ANYONE who ****cans a place like rotto is advertising their ignorance.

if u have a boat get over and use soo mant sik spots to explore and it doesnt really matter wat winds r if ther light u can genralyy find a spot where its pumpin i gett pitted all the time over ther!!!

rotto isnt very consistent but wen it goes off it is sik i was lucky to get down there for one of those few days that it goes off and there were clean 6ft barrels you just hav to pick the day to go down

Rotto sucks... try surfin at a more consistant break, like bells beach down at yellingupp or sum place dow there
