He is a brilliant surfer.
It's a sad indictment of the commercialisation of surfing when a genius ripper, like Marzo, is dropped by Quiksilver in favour of another generic air kid or middling surfer from the right demographic or board short-selling region.

Drops the hammer on turns like some of the top pro's.

He actually suffers from a condition called Aspergers syndrome, theres a great write up from his mum on his website: http://claymarzo.com/clay-aspergers-syndrome/

I remember seeing a doco with him on Fuel TV where Quiksilver gave him some flash new boardies to wear in front of the camera. He flat out told them the boardies were crap and that he didn't like them.

I remember him on the movie Young guns 2 a few years back , the freak was ripping back then even

Unfortunately marketability of a surfer = sponsorship $$ and Quik have decided that Marzo, Craike and others doing the free surfing gig don't sell enough boardies. Times are tough out there.

I dunno if they are complaining too much all the do is live up North surf and fish!!
