Hi I will be arriving in Benoa Harbour near Kuta on a yacht early June and may have a few days or a week before flying out , been there before but was over 20 years ago, anyway wondering about how easy it would be to buy / borrow or hire a cheap board as I won,t be bringing one with me,{ will have a legrope etc tho] understand that new boards are not cheap there but there must be a lot of second hand ones that people leave behind? Normally surf a longboard or sup but a big volume shortboard would be a lot easier to get around with,

Very easy. You can take a board for an hour, day, week, whatever. Price depends somewhat on your negotiation skills.

Bro,, if you can't find a board in Bali,, you won't find snow in Queenstown in Winter.... Millions.. Finding the right one might be a different matter....

Make sure you inspect the board you chose before you leave with it. Point out any existing flaws/dings to the beachboy you're hiring it from. Some of the lads are dodgy as **** and will try and charge you for repairs for already existing damage.

But yeah, to echo previous comments, if you can't find a board to hire in Bali then you're not in Bali.

Are you staying aboard the yacht for your stay?

thanks for that , not sure if I will be staying on the boat but if so it will only be in Benoa harbour. Will be easier to rent something for a day or two than drag it all the way from NZ and paying excess baggage etc.

Yeah, all are right. In Kuta you'll see a bunch of beat up quivers stacked on the beach. Just keep looking and you'll usually find a little hidden gem. OK, maybe not a gem, but one that is less beat up than the others. Rent by the hour, day or week.

Just don't use the Coca Cola board. It's lame.
