So its began

Only aussie to get a role is Ronnie Blakey in support.

I know we are a small market but Im going to miss some of the aussies.

I remember listening to Jake the snake last year with a south african. It was a crack up as they were taking side bets against each other on heats and things within the heat. They were followed into the booth by Peter Mel and Martin Potter who you could tell were almost offended by how laid back the other two were.

Hear comes the sanitised made for US version of surfing. Next it will be Jo Turpel and co in blazers ....

At least he surfs! Given the massive growth in the popularity of all things surfing, I'm pretty stoked that we don't have Eddie McGuire commentating... yet.

I seriously turn the tv down when Rosy Hodge starts talking, her commentary is so robotic!

Finally they have made an announcement - I also find JT a bit to placid for my liking. I am hoping someone is going to not be afraid to pull some punches this year and provide some honest feedback on poor performances as opposed to just saying well done all the time.

For a different perspective have a read of this - it was pulled from the ASP website but thanks to our IT friends we can still see it Lewis Samuels is back - well he was for a short time anyway. Some gems in here.
