Gday. I bought a 7'3" 7S 2nd hand as an experiment in getting off the longboard. It's set up as a quad with M7s and GXs but with one GX missing. Should I buy another GX or would it be ok with the little GL side biters from my longboard in the back instead, keeping the M7s in the front?

I have no idea about fins, but Im 43, 81kg, nearly average ability who's a bit front footed, generally surfing 2-3 foot below-average quality waves, if that helps.

Thanks.

G'day,

I have the same board... and at 81kg there will be no problem with you catching waves - I'm nearly 30kg heavier and go OK.

Def. set it up as a quad - as it will be faster and loser than a thruster... however I would think that the GL's are likely to be too small in some situations.

You can always just try them...

I have the Simon Anderson FCS S25 core flex in large (fibre glass with a 'honey comb' type core) and reckon they are great. They will transfer over to any new board.

save me starting another thread.. but i wanna try my board as a quad.. i was given 3 x m5's and 2 x m3's with the board.. use the m5's as a thruster at the moment

probably silly question.. but m5's on the outside and m3's on the inside for quad setup yea?

Whatever - so long as the rear pair of fins are slightly smaller than the front pair (or at worst, the same size).
