Hi All,

Can anyone offer me some advice as to what board would be best suited to me.
I am 5.11 and 90kg had one lesson and I am hooked.
(Will be having a few more lessons so can will be asking my instructor but would like other opinions)

I would like a board that is forgiving (if that's possible) and one that would suit me for a couple years.

DL is pretty much on the money! You will need some volume to your board to suit ur weight , height and surf-ability.
Welcome to the surfing community and Seabreeze.
If ur seriously hooked you might want to concider a 2nd hand board in the meantime, as you will prob want to trade to a smaller and more responsive board as your skill level improoves

As you are in WA and I don't know any shapers there I would say check out the Starboard range. Look at the 9'8" if you are after a more surfing board and are prepared to persist to get your balance. This is one you will need to grow towards as it is not that forgiving at the start to a novice. Otherwise look at the 10'6" Starboard as it still surfs well and is much more stable. I rode a Starboard Whopper the other day and was surprized how well it performed for such a wide board. I am 92kg and 6' tall.
I ride a 9'6" naish and it out performs the above IMO but is not that forgiving in choppy water.

If you are after a cruiser for small waves I would look at boards over 11'.

Are they the type where you have to hold a paddle? SUPs have there own forum. Put an out board on it and you have a cheap runabout!!
