Going to cooloongatta this month, will be surfing down to Byron and Lennox. Will I need a steamer? Can I get away with a spring suit. I'm looking up water temp but haven't had much joy.
Haven't been there in a few years last time was in jan and it was boardies all the way..

Water is 20 atm. Cool in the morning. I'm going out for round two shortly and will a long sleeve vest. Perfect winters day yeeeeeoooooooooow. Or a springy as I'm pretty soft. Heaps of tourists just in boardies and loving it brrrrrrrr

I surfed between Lennox & Noosa wearing a springy in August a few years ago. Only got a little cold waiting in the line for the speed slide at wet & wild

Went for a bodysurf at Palm Beach on the goldy last week, water was Beeeeautiful, especially after an ice cream headache surf at home before I left. Could have happily surfed for hours in Boardies. Didn't get to take a surfboard, but the skateparks are a must if you're so inclined :)
